Aung Y Oo is Clinical Lead in aortovascular surgery and the professor of cardiovascular surgery at the Bart Heart Centre, St Bartholomew’s hospital and William Harvey Research Institute of Queen Mary University, London. He completed medical training at Institute of Medicine 1, Yangon, Myanmar. He underwent basic surgical training and higher surgical training in cardiothoracic surgery in Liverpool, Manchester and London. Professor Oo is the Clinical Lead in complex aortovascular service of North London Operational Delivery Network and co-lead for London region. He is an international expert in the field of complex aortic surgery, serves on the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery (EACTS) Taskforce for Thoracic Aortic forum, Founder chair of United Kingdom Aortic Surgery (UKAS) and Director of Barts Aortovascular Symposium.
